by admin477351

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has pledged full support for three soldiers who were injured in mine explosions near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), emphasizing his commitment during a visit to the Armed Forces Capital Hospital in Seongnam. The soldiers sustained injuries on September 21 during a route-clearance operation south of the Military Demarcation Line in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

During his visit, President Lee met with the soldiers and their families, underscoring the importance of providing adequate medical care, rehabilitation, and support for their future military service. “We must ensure that these brave soldiers receive the necessary resources for their recovery and continued service,” Lee stated, highlighting the government’s role in addressing the needs of injured service members.

The South Korean military has attributed the explosions to North Korean mines that were allegedly placed as part of border fortification activities. However, North Korea has denied these claims. In response to the incident, President Lee has called for a thorough investigation and instructed officials to explore appropriate support and compensation measures for the affected soldiers.

The incident has raised tensions between the two Koreas, with South Korea urging a comprehensive investigation and responsible measures from North Korea regarding the explosions. The situation remains delicate, as both countries navigate the complex dynamics of border security and military activities in the region.

This incident highlights the ongoing risks faced by military personnel operating near the DMZ, a heavily fortified border that separates the two Koreas. The South Korean government continues to advocate for the safety and well-being of its soldiers while seeking diplomatic solutions to reduce tensions and promote stability in the region.
