LG Electronics has reported a record-breaking financial performance for the second quarter, propelled by strong demand across several key sectors, including home appliances, vehicle components, and HVAC systems. The company announced a preliminary operating profit of 1.58 trillion won, equivalent to $1.04 billion, marking a significant 146.9% increase compared to the same period last year. Revenue also saw a substantial rise, climbing 14.9% to reach 23.83 trillion won, exceeding market analysts’ predictions.

In the first half of the year, LG achieved unprecedented milestones with total revenue of 47.56 trillion won and an operating profit of 3.25 trillion won, both of which are new company records. These impressive results were underpinned by increased sales in core business segments, enhanced cost-efficiency measures, and a strategic expansion in subscription services and webOS. Furthermore, the company witnessed a boost in its online sales, contributing to its financial success.

The growth in LG’s home appliance, vehicle solutions, and HVAC divisions served as major contributors to this performance. The company experienced heightened demand for premium home appliances and automotive infotainment systems, while its cooling solutions gained popularity, especially in Europe during recent heatwaves. This surge in demand significantly bolstered the company’s earnings during the quarter.

LG continues to invest in forward-looking technologies, with a focus on future growth areas such as AI data center cooling solutions and advanced robotics components. These investments are part of the company’s strategy to cement its position in emerging tech markets and sustain its growth trajectory.
